confident to take to your massage practice the following day.
Bamboo Massage is becoming the most preferred deep tissue and relaxation technique in the massage industry since Hot Stone. This wonderful luxurious full body treatment uses warm bamboo and/or rattan tools designed for relaxation or deep tissue work.
The bamboo cane replaces the therapist's hands, and is able to give a deeper, firmer massage. The cane is rolled or compressed over the muscles with the same strokes they would normally use with their hands. All massage techniques can incorporate the use of bamboo/rattan canes.
This technique works in a very similar way to hot stone massage. The tools are heated using heating pads or a hot towel cabi. Though, it is not necessary to heat them and when the weather is warm, clients may prefer them at room temperature.
As the therapist is not using their hands as much, this has the added benefit of less stress to the practitioner's hands, wrists, arms and shoulders.
You will also learn how to perform gua sha massage with your bamboo tools. Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped with a flat edged tool releasing unhealthy elements which stimulates blood flow and healing.

Instructor Bio:
Abby Cicirelli, LMT since 1988. MA#00004012. Certified Breema Practitioner since 2000. Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor since 2000. Graduate of David Wolfe's Raw Nutrition Coach Certification Program since 2015 & Kundalini Yoga & Meditation Teacher since 2018. She also brings 11 years experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse to her practice.
She practices her Massage Arts at Mountain Song Massage in Ashford, WA.
Abby teaches massage classes in Hawai'ian Lomilomi, Balinese Massage, Barefoot Fusion Massage, Warm Bamboo & Gua Sha Massage, European Facial Massage & Comfort Touch.
A student of massage/bodywork, yoga, meditation, quantum energy healing, astrology, tarot, raw food nutrition & herbology since the early 80's.
Her hobbies include yoga, meditation, hiking, hot spring exploring, lake swimming, snow skiing, roller skating, jam bands, astrology, Tarot, gardening, raw food nutrition & herbology.
She lives in the forest at the base of Mt Rainier with her beloved feline companions Bella Rosebud and Mr. Waffles.
